Metal Matters Reissue on Black Vinyl

This 2026 pressing of Pale Communion belongs to Rhino's Metal Matters vinyl series, issued alongside reissues of Sepultura's Roots and Beneath the Remains and Korn's The Nothing. The album's eight songs are split across two black LPs, two to a side, under Rhino catalog number R1 729192. Rhino's notes for the release quote Mikael Åkerfeldt on what he was after: "I wanted to do something more melodic with this album, so there's stronger vocal melodies and more melodies overall for this album."

Pale Communion is Opeth's eleventh studio album and the first with keyboardist Joakim Svalberg, who took over after Per Wiberg left in 2011. Åkerfeldt wrote all eight songs and produced the record, and Steven Wilson mixed it. The band recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, with string arrangements by Dave Stewart recorded at Angel Studios in London. Travis Smith painted the cover under Åkerfeldt's art direction, and each of its three framed panels carries a Latin quotation, from Axel Oxenstierna, Terence and Martial.

Roadrunner Records first released the album in August 2014, after issuing "Cusp of Eternity" as the lead single. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 19, the same debut position as 2011's Heritage, went to No. 1 in Finland and reached No. 3 in both Germany and Sweden. The lineup was Åkerfeldt on vocals and guitar, Fredrik Åkesson on guitar, Martín Méndez on bass, Svalberg on keyboards and Martin Axenrot on drums.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.
