Indie Exclusive San Tropez Orange Marble Vinyl

Pink Floyd and Sony Music announced this edition of Meddle for National Album Day 2026, pressed on marbled orange vinyl named after "San Tropez," the fourth track. In the United States it is sold as an indie exclusive and through Sony Music's own vinyl store. It is a single LP carrying the album's original six-track running order, first issued by Harvest in 1971.

"San Tropez" is a Roger Waters song set to a jazz-inflected shuffle. "Fearless" ends on a field recording of Liverpool supporters on the Anfield Kop singing "You'll Never Walk Alone," and "Seamus" features the howling of Steve Marriott's dog, whom David Gilmour was minding at the time. The title "A Pillow of Winds" came from games of mahjong that Waters, Nick Mason and their wives played in the south of France.

The band's announcement calls the album "a pivotal moment in the band's development" and traces its signature track, "Echoes," to a run of recording and writing experiments. The 23-minute piece, heard in the video above, was played live throughout 1971 to 1975 and was brought back at the start of the 1987 A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour.

"Echoes" also scores the surf sequence in George Greenough's 1973 film Crystal Voyager. Greenough recalls deciding on first hearing that it had to be the soundtrack, and the band agreed on the condition that they could use his footage as a backdrop for their own live shows.
