Black Vinyl 3LP Set

This three-LP set holds Bob Dylan's complete concert of May 16, 1976, at the Tarrant County Convention Center Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, a show from the second leg of the Rolling Thunder Revue tour. The audio was remixed from the original multitrack tapes, and Dylan's official store notes that 18 of the 22 performances were previously unreleased. The 22 songs run across six sides of black vinyl.

The four performances heard before all appeared on Hard Rain, the live album Columbia issued on September 13, 1976: "I Threw It All Away," "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again," "Oh, Sister" and "Lay Lady Lay." Most of Hard Rain came from the May 23 concert in Fort Collins, Colorado, which NBC filmed and broadcast as a one-hour television special. The album reached No. 17 in the US and No. 3 in the UK.

Columbia and Legacy issued this set alongside The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1976 Live Recordings, a 39-CD box that covers the 27-date spring run from Lakeland, Florida, on April 18 to Salt Lake City on May 25. The touring band included Rob Stoner, Scarlet Rivera and Howie Wyeth from the Desire sessions, with Mick Ronson, Steven Soles, David Mansfield and T Bone Burnett on guitars, and Joan Baez joins Dylan here for "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Railroad Boy." Burnett, in a statement for the release, called it "the first national punk rock tour." The Fort Worth "Going Going Gone" was the first track shared from the set.
