Virgin's 2011 vinyl reissue of Siamese Dream spreads the album's thirteen songs across two 180-gram records in a gatefold jacket, with Bob Ludwig credited for the 2011 remaster. The package carries liner notes and track-by-track commentary from Billy Corgan, along with collages, photographs and postcards, and the printed inner sleeves hold the lyrics. The outer jacket has a metallic finish with nothing printed on its back, so the tracklist and barcode come on a separate single-sided sheet.

Siamese Dream is the band's second album and followed Gish, their 1991 debut on Caroline Records. Butch Vig and Corgan produced it, recording mainly between December 1992 and March 1993 at Triclops Studios in Georgia. Alan Moulder mixed the album at Corgan's suggestion, on the strength of his work on My Bloody Valentine's Loveless; the mix was booked for two weeks and took 36 days. Mike Mills plays piano on "Soma," and Eric Remschneider and David Ragsdale arranged and played the strings on "Disarm" and "Luna."

Virgin released the album in July 1993. It debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200 and is certified four times platinum by the RIAA. "Cherub Rock," "Today," "Disarm" and "Rocket" were the original singles, and "Mayonaise" followed as a fifth single for the album's 30th anniversary in 2023. The video above is "Today."
