Pisces Iscariot collects B-sides, outtakes and home recordings the band set aside between 1989 and 1994. Virgin released it on October 4, 1994, between Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness; it reached number four on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 23 of that year.

The material is drawn from several sessions. "Obscured" and "Blue" date from the Gish sessions, and "Frail and Bedazzled," "Hello Kitty Kat," "Whir" and "Spaced" from the Siamese Dream sessions. "Landslide" is a Fleetwood Mac cover and "A Girl Named Sandoz" is an Animals cover. In his liner notes Billy Corgan describes the contents as home recordings, quick studio takes, and material that was considered for the first two albums and left off them. Production across the set is credited to Butch Vig, Corgan, James Iha, Kerry Brown, Dale Griffin and Ted de Bono.

This edition is remastered and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, with the fourteen tracks spread across four sides and the original artwork restored.
