180 Gram Black Vinyl 2LP, Remastered From the Original Master Tapes

Virgin's 2026 reissue puts Adore on two black 180-gram records, remastered from the original master tapes and housed in the album's original artwork. The sixteen songs sit four to a side. It arrived on the same street date as a matching reissue of Pisces Iscariot.

Virgin first released Adore on June 2, 1998. It was the band's first album without drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, and it moves the guitar-rooted sound toward drum machines, electronic programming and piano, which carries at least five of the songs.

Sessions began in Chicago in early 1997 with producer Brad Wood and moved to Sunset Sound in Los Angeles, where Billy Corgan produced; Flood added production and mixed. Matt Walker drums on seven tracks, Joey Waronker plays on "Perfect," Matt Cameron plays on "For Martha," and Bon Harris of Nitzer Ebb handled programming on eight songs. James Iha and D'arcy Wretzky complete the band.

Adore reached number two on the Billboard 200, selling 174,000 copies in its first week, and number four in the UK. The RIAA certified it platinum, and it drew a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Performance. "Ava Adore," the video above, and "Perfect" were its commercial singles.
