180 Gram Black Vinyl 2LP In Gatefold Jacket

This is XL Recordings' black-vinyl edition of A Moon Shaped Pool, catalog number XLLP790: two 180-gram LPs in a gatefold sleeve whose artwork continues inside the record pockets, with printed inner sleeves and a download card. A limited white-vinyl edition was issued alongside it. The sleeve carries a line in memory of Vic Godrich, 1936-2015. Eleven songs run across four sides, sequenced alphabetically; Jonny Greenwood has said the order was kept only because it worked.

Radiohead released the album as a download on May 8, 2016, and XL issued the CD and vinyl on June 17. Nigel Godrich produced it. Sessions began at the band's studio in Oxfordshire in September 2014, continued for about three weeks at La Fabrique in Saint-Remy-de-Provence in 2015, and used RAK Studios in London for the strings. Greenwood arranged the strings and choir, performed by the London Contemporary Orchestra under Hugh Brunt. Vic Godrich, Nigel's father, died on the day the strings for "Burn the Witch" were recorded. The closing "True Love Waits" had been played live since 1995 and attempted in the studio several times before this version.

Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood made the cover art from canvases left out in the weather. "Burn the Witch," the video above, was released on May 3, 2016, and "Daydreaming" followed on May 6. The album became Radiohead's sixth No. 1 in the UK and reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, holds a Metacritic score of 88, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, and received Grammy nominations for Best Alternative Music Album and, for "Burn the Witch," Best Rock Song.

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.
