XL Recordings' North American reissue, catalog number XLLP780. A single LP in a single-pocket jacket with a color-printed inner sleeve, cut from the metalwork of the original UK pressing, which Chris Blair mastered and edited at Abbey Road.

Radiohead began The Bends at RAK Studios in London in February 1994 and finished it that November, recording also at Abbey Road and at The Manor in Oxfordshire. John Leckie produced. Nigel Godrich engineered the RAK sessions, the first of his many records with the band.

Parlophone released it on March 13, 1995 in the United Kingdom and Capitol followed on April 4 in the United States. It reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, and is certified four times platinum by the BPI and platinum by the RIAA.

Six singles came off it: "My Iron Lung" in September 1994, "High and Dry" backed with "Planet Telex" in February 1995, "Fake Plastic Trees" — heard above — in May, "Just" in August, "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" in January 1996 and the title track that July.
