Indie Exclusive Cool Ghoul Color Vinyl 2LP

Futurismo's Cool Ghoul edition is a new color repress of Devo's Halloween 1975 concert, cut across two LPs and issued to independent record stores. It follows the label's first run of colorways from June 2026, which included Laughing Gas, Haunted Striptease and the label-store Franken Booji, and it sits alongside 2CD and cassette editions of the same set. The package carries over from those pressings: a gloss-laminated outer jacket with a wide spine, printed color inner sleeves, and a fold-out insert of archival images with liner notes by Gerald V. Casale.

The concert took place on October 31, 1975 at the WHK Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, with Devo booked as support for Sun Ra. The label's account has the costumed audience already supplied with nitrous oxide and alcohol by the radio station sponsoring the night, and expecting a band that played Bad Company songs. What they got was an early performance of de-evolution material, and the room turned hostile.

Futurismo describes the eighteen songs as the origins of de-evolution theory in a live setting, most of it never heard before this release. The set includes a "Jocko Homo" of roughly twelve minutes, which the label believes to be the song's first performance before a live audience. The label states the audio was mixed and mastered from recordings held in Devo's own vaults, and presents the record as a companion to its Art Devo releases.
