Rocktober 2026 Black Vinyl LP With Blue Vinyl 7-inch

Rhino issued this edition of Something For Everybody as part of Rocktober 2026, a run of 54 limited-edition vinyl titles sent to independent record stores on select Fridays through October; Devo's album is in the October 23 wave. It puts the record back on vinyl for the first time since its original 2010 release. The 12-track album was mastered by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and is pressed on black vinyl, and a blue vinyl 7-inch comes with it carrying four bonus tracks.

Three of the four songs on the 7-inch have a history of their own. Watch Us Work It, Signal Ready and Let's Get To It were among the songs left off the CD after Devo's online "Song Study," a fan survey run to pick the album's final tracks, and they were later collected on the deluxe edition. Watch Us Work It came out years before the album. It was released as a single in July 2007, produced by Teddybears, used in a Dell commercial, and built on a sampled drum track from "The Super Thing" on New Traditionalists (1981). Throw Money At The Problem completes the side.

The album itself was Devo's ninth studio record and their first in two decades, following Smooth Noodle Maps (1990). It was also their first on Warner Bros. since Shout in 1984. Sessions ran from July 2007 to mid-2009 at Mark Mothersbaugh's Mutato Muzika studio in West Hollywood, with production from Greg Kurstin, John Hill and Santi White among others. It is the first Devo album with drummer Josh Freese and the last with Bob Casale, who died in February 2014. The cover shows Russian model and musician Natasha Romanova holding a miniature blue energy dome. Blue was chosen as the dome's new color through one of the band's satirical focus-group videos, which seems only fair for a record whose running order was also partly put to a vote.
