1983 US reissue, Columbia QC 38200, pressed at Terre Haute
Columbia first released The Nylon Curtain in September 1982 as TC 38200. This copy is the 1983 reissue under the QC 38200 number, pressed at Columbia's plant in Terre Haute, Indiana.
The object
One LP, with the runouts stamped STERLING for Ted Jensen's mastering at Sterling Sound. The label matrices are AL 38200 and BL 38200, and the labels keep the 1982 CBS Inc. copyright line. The printed inner sleeve, designed by John Berg, has a photograph on one side and the credits and lyrics on the other; the front cover design is Christopher Austopchuk's, with album art coordination by Paula Scher.
Context
The track list and running order match the 1982 issue: nine songs produced by Phil Ramone and recorded at A&R Recording and Media Sound in New York. What sets this copy apart is the QC prefix and the year, which place it one year after the first Terre Haute run.
