2026 Remaster, Black Vinyl
Trompe le Monde on black vinyl, remastered in 2026 by Kevin Vanbergen from the original analog tapes and repressed by 4AD for the band's 40th anniversary, in tandem with Bossanova.
The fourth Pixies album was released September 23, 1991, on 4AD, with Elektra handling the US a day later. Gil Norton produced, and Eric Drew Feldman joined the four-piece on keyboards. Recording took place at Master Control and Pacifique in Burbank, Studio des Dames in Paris and Blackwing in London.
It peaked at No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 92 on the Billboard 200, with Gold certification in France and Silver in the UK. Four singles followed: "Planet of Sound," "Alec Eiffel," "Letter to Memphis" and "Head On," the last a Jesus and Mary Chain cover.
The title translates from French as "fool the world." It was the last Pixies studio album before the band's split, and the group did not return to the stage together for more than a decade.
