Indie Exclusive Neon Green Vinyl 2LP, Bright-Side Mix

This is the Indie Exclusive neon green pressing of o\i, carrying the album's Bright-Side Mix by Mark "Spike" Stent across two LPs, with an obi strip that names the edition as the Bright-Side Mixes on limited edition neon green vinyl. Side A holds four songs and Sides B through D three each, closing on "Sacrament." As with i/o, the album was mixed twice: Stent's Bright-Side Mix, heard here, and Tchad Blake's Dark-Side Mix, with Mike Elizondo mixing one Dark-Side track. A Dolby Atmos version, Hans-Martin Buff's Inside-Mix, is digital only.

o\i is the companion to i/o (2023), and in Gabriel's words its 13 tracks "complete the i/o / o\i 25-track joint project." Gabriel wrote and produced it and recorded it mostly at Real World Studios, his studio near Bath, England. Long-time band members Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché play on it, along with i/o touring players Richard Evans, Josh Shpak and Don E, the New Blood Orchestra, the Soweto Gospel Choir and the Orphei Drängar choir, and Mike Elizondo co-produced one track. Most of the songs were first issued one at a time as digital singles during 2026, on Gabriel's full-moon release schedule. Gabriel has called it "the longest album I have ever put out."

He describes the pair of titles this way: "i/o: the inside has a new way out and o\i: the outside has a new way in." Nadav Kander took the cover photograph, and as on i/o each song is paired with a piece of visual art chosen by Gabriel, this time from artists including Judy Chicago, Tomás Saraceno, Shirin Neshat, Tatsuo Miyajima and Francis Alÿs.
