This 2026 pressing of Sweet Tooth is on black and white quad vinyl, the disc split into black and white quarters, as an edition for independent record stores. Earlier runs of the album included a half bone, half blue first press of 500 and a pink and red galaxy pressing of 250 sold through Counter Intuitive Records.

Sweet Tooth is the third full-length album from Mom Jeans and was released on February 25, 2022, following 2018's Puppy Love. "What's Up?" was its first single, issued on September 28, 2021. The band recorded the album at The Barber Shop Studios in New Jersey with producer Brett Romnes, whose credits include The Front Bottoms, Oso Oso and Dogleg, and Eric Butler has described the sessions as the band's first proper, top-to-bottom studio experience.

Tyler Povanda of Save Face and Kory Gregory of Prince Daddy & the Hyena contribute guest vocals. Butler has said the album marked a departure from his usual writing style, which had been shaped by bands such as Modern Baseball, The Front Bottoms and Joyce Manor. Pointing to the hooks of Blink-182 and Green Day, he put the aim plainly: "Ear candy is the goal, so Sweet Tooth is the record."

The band's next album, Bear Market, followed in November 2023.
