Twelve songs on one eco black LP, six to a side, running 42:49, sold through independent retail. Rise Records has not put Instant Gratification on this vinyl compound before.

The album arrived on April 14, 2015, with Kris Crummett producing after sitting out the record before it. It entered the Billboard 200 at No. 32 on first-week sales of about 15,000 copies, topped Billboard's Independent Albums chart, and reached No. 2 on both Hard Rock Albums and Top Rock Albums.

Four singles preceded it across ten weeks: "On the Run" in February 2015, "We Own the Night" in March, which is the video above, "Stroke God, Millionaire" in early April and "Eagle vs. Crows" a week before the release. It was the first Dance Gavin Dance record made after guitarist Josh Benton left, and it remained the band's best-selling album until Mothership. An instrumental version of the whole thing followed on July 26, 2019.
