Rise Records' 2026 repress of Downtown Battle Mountain, and the first time the album has been cut on the label's environmentally-friendly eco black vinyl. An indie exclusive, pressed for independent retail.

Downtown Battle Mountain is Dance Gavin Dance's debut. It was recorded in January and February 2007 with Kris Crummett producing, engineering, mixing and mastering, and Rise released it on May 15 that year. It reached number 46 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart.

It is the only full-length the band made with guitarist Sean O'Sullivan, who left later in 2007, and it sets the pattern the group has worked in ever since: Jonny Craig's clean vocals against Jon Mess's unclean ones, Will Swan on lead guitar, Eric Lodge on bass and Matt Mingus on drums. A sequel, Downtown Battle Mountain II, followed in 2011.

Eleven tracks, just over forty minutes, opening on an untitled instrumental.
