180 Gram Double Vinyl in a Gatefold Jacket

Eleven live performances from B.B. King's three decades at the Montreux Jazz Festival, cut across four sides of 180 gram vinyl. BMG's notes state that every recording here is previously unreleased, that the set draws on nine appearances at the Festival, and that it was assembled with the B.B. King Estate and the Montreux Jazz Festival team.

The per-track annotations place the performances between 1982 and 2000 and split them between two Montreux rooms. The Casino Montreux holds the earliest, "Guess Who" from 1982, along with "The Thrill Is Gone" and two more from 1990. The larger Auditorium Stravinski holds "All Over Again" from 1993, which opens side A, and "Early in the Mornin'" from 2000, which opens side C and is the latest recording in the set.

The gatefold jacket carries two printed inner sleeves with the essay and the credits, and the release includes rare and unseen photography. The liner notes are by Daniel de Visé, B.B. King's biographer. The Montreux Years is BMG's archival live series, built from the festival's own recordings; the Claude Nobs Foundation, named for the festival's founder, is credited on the inner sleeve.
