This is the American compact disc of Giving You The Best That I Got on Elektra, catalogue number 9 60827-2, carrying the matrix 2 60827-2 SRC-02 M3 S1 in its inner ring. The SRC in that string marks a disc glass mastered at Specialty Records Corporation in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, and with no ARC code beside it, the disc was pressed in Olyphant too. Its layout, with the number and SRC suffix followed by separate mother and stamper codes and no matrix barcode, is the form Specialty used on glass masters from 1988 to 1990.
A single disc, credited on the release to WEA Manufacturing, the Warner company that owned the Olyphant plant. Mastering for the album is credited to Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood. The front insert carries the standard cover: Baker in a floral jacket beside a stone column, her name in green script and the title spaced across the top.
The album was released in October 1988, and this copy sits on the original Elektra catalogue number and barcode for the United States CD. The 1988 to 1990 window places it within the album's first years on compact disc, from one of several glass master and stamper combinations used under that number.
Giving You The Best That I Got was Anita Baker's only number-one album in the United States.
