Elektra 75 Series Reissue on Black Vinyl

This single black LP is Rhino's 2025 reissue of Rapture, part of the vinyl series marking Elektra Records' 75th anniversary. Rapture arrived on July 4 in the series' first wave, alongside The Afghan Whigs' Gentlemen, Grover Washington Jr.'s Winelight and Keith Sweat's self-titled debut. The run placed twenty Elektra titles from four decades with participating brick-and-mortar shops, and the distributor lists this pressing as a retailer exclusive. The label's own notes point out that the album had rarely appeared on vinyl since its first pressing nearly forty years earlier.

Rapture was Baker's second album and her first for Elektra. Her former label, Beverly Glen Music, sued to stop any new recordings from coming out; the case was decided in her favor on March 19, 1986, and the record was released the following day. Michael J. Powell, her bandmate from Chapter 8, produced seven of the eight songs, Marti Sharron and Gary Skardina produced "No One in the World," and Bernie Grundman mastered the original release.

The album peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and No. 13 on the UK Albums Chart, won Baker two Grammy Awards and has sold more than eight million copies worldwide. "Sweet Love," written by Baker with Louis A. Johnson and Gary Bias, was the first single in May 1986; it reached No. 8 on the Hot 100 and won the Grammy for Best R&B Song. "Caught Up in the Rapture" followed that October. Rolling Stone placed Rapture at No. 404 on its 2020 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Shipping Speeds & Delivery Estimates

Delivery timelines are estimates, not guarantees.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.

Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.

While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.

Signature Requirements

Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.

Once your order ships, you’ll receive tracking information via email. We recommend monitoring tracking updates and ensuring delivery to a secure location.

Evergreen Vinyl is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after being marked as delivered by the carrier. Customers are responsible for selecting a shipping address where deliveries can be received safely.

• Please retain all original packaging, including the outer box and packing materials

• Contact us as soon as possible (ideally immediately) after delivery

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method after inspection (if a return is required).

• Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the error was ours

• Refund timing may vary depending on your payment provider

Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

We strongly encourage customers to contact us directly with any concerns before filing a credit card dispute or chargeback.

Once a dispute or chargeback has been initiated, we are unable to proceed with refunds, replacements, or reshipments until the case is fully resolved. Resolution timelines are controlled by the payment processor and can take up to 120 days.

Preorders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before the order ships.

Once a preorder has shipped, it is treated as a completed order and is subject to the return, refund, and exchange policies outlined above.
