This limited 30th-anniversary edition of Dirt spreads the remastered album over two LPs on opaque yellow vinyl, catalog number 19439986771, with a double-sided lyrics insert and a yellow hype sticker on the shrinkwrap. It is an import pressing.

Columbia first released the album on September 29, 1992. Layne Staley, Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Starr and drummer Sean Kinney recorded it between April and July 1992 at Eldorado in Burbank, London Bridge in Seattle and One on One in Los Angeles. Dave Jerden produced everything except "Would?," which Rick Parashar produced.

Five singles came from Dirt, each with a video: "Would?," "Them Bones," "Angry Chair," "Rooster" and "Down in a Hole." "Them Bones," the opening song, is above.

The album peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, where it charted for 102 weeks, and it is certified five times platinum by the RIAA. When the anniversary reissue arrived in 2022, it returned to the chart's top 10 at No. 9.
