For its 30th anniversary, Alice in Chains' self-titled 1995 album is spread across two LPs pressed on translucent highlighter yellow vinyl, with three songs to a side. This limited Columbia/Legacy reissue came out on January 30, 2026, and comes in a gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves. All twelve songs are here in their original running order, ending with "Over Now."
It was the band's third studio album and the last to feature singer Layne Staley. People often call it the "Tripod" album because of the three-legged dog on the cover. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and is certified double Platinum.
The opening track, "Grind," was written by Jerry Cantrell and recorded at Bad Animals in Seattle, produced by Toby Wright with the band. It was the lead single, reached No. 7 on Billboard's Album Rock Tracks chart and was nominated for the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1996. "Again" was nominated in the same category the next year.
