Rocktober 2026 Translucent Yellow & Blue Vinyl 2LP

This is the first LP edition of Greatest Hits to carry the full contents of the 1992 CD. Rhino pressed it for Rocktober 2026, the label's run of 54 limited-edition vinyl titles issued on Fridays through October and sold only at select brick-and-mortar shops while supplies last. It comes in the October 30 group of colored pressings, on two 140-gram discs: one translucent yellow, one translucent blue.

The original 1992 vinyl left out four of the CD's eighteen songs, "Cheap Sunglasses," "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide," "Pearl Necklace" and "Planet of Women," and cut some others down from their original running length. The compilation as first issued also used newer remixes, "Tush" and "La Grange" among them. Rhino states that this edition puts all of the original mixes back.

Warner Bros. first released Greatest Hits on April 14, 1992. Most of the songs come from the band's albums of 1979 to 1990, from Degüello through Recycler. Two tracks appear on no studio album: "Gun Love," and the band's cover of Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas." That cover is tied with "Gimme All Your Lovin'" as ZZ Top's highest-charting UK single, both peaking at No. 10.

Billy Gibbons sings lead on most of the record. Dusty Hill takes the lead on "Tush" and "Viva Las Vegas," and Frank Beard plays drums. Bill Ham produced, Joe Hardy, Bob Ludwig and Terry Manning are credited as engineers, and Glen Wexler shot the cover photograph. In The Rough Guide to Rock (1999), Neil Nixon names it one of the two best ZZ Top albums, alongside Degüello.
