Limited Aquamarine 180g Vinyl 2LP

This Music On Vinyl edition of Simply Baroque is pressed on two 180-gram aquamarine vinyl LPs, catalog number MOVCL024, and is limited to 500 copies. A four-page booklet with liner notes is included.

Yo-Yo Ma recorded the album with Ton Koopman and the period-instrument Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, and it was first released in 1999. He plays a Baroque cello strung with gut and played without an endpin, held between the legs so the sound comes from the body of the instrument alone.

The first record collects arrangements of Bach, including "Erbarme Dich" from the St. Matthew Passion, "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and the Air from the Orchestral Suite No. 3. The second record holds two cello concertos by Luigi Boccherini, G. 480 in G major and G. 478 in D major.
