Remastered 180-Gram Black Vinyl LP With Newspaper Lyric Posters

This is the 2017 single-LP reissue of Fever to Tell, cut from a new remaster by Stephen Marcussen at Marcussen Mastering in Los Angeles and pressed on one black 180-gram disc. Issued for the album's 15th anniversary by Interscope and Polydor through UMe under catalog number B0027270-01, it was reported by Rolling Stone as the first time the record had been available as a standalone 180-gram LP. The band's announcement called it the album's first time on vinyl in ten years.

The 2017 run was solicited with a printed inner sleeve showing images of the original picture disc, a custom insert and five newspaper-style lyric posters carrying photographs by Nick Zinner, Spike Jonze, Lance Bangs, Julian Gross, Patrick Daughters and Cintamani Calise. The same posters went into the 2,000-copy deluxe box released alongside it. Discogs documents later press runs on this barcode, including a 2023 repress at GZ Media, where some copies came without the poster. Poor Song closes side B but is not listed anywhere on the packaging.

Fever to Tell was the debut album from the New York trio of Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase, first released by Interscope in April 2003. It was recorded at Headgear in Brooklyn with David Andrew Sitek of TV on the Radio co-producing alongside the band, then mixed at Eden Studios in London. Maps reached No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 9 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, and the Patrick Daughters video for it drew four MTV Video Music Award nominations. The album was nominated for the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, went Gold with both the RIAA and the BPI, and had passed a million copies sold by the end of the decade.
