This Strictly Rhythm repress puts the Tweekin Acid Funk mix of Higher State Of Consciousness on side A and the Deep And Slow Chill Edit on side B, pressed on red and white splatter vinyl and cut at 45 RPM. The side A label credits the record as produced and mixed by Josh Wink, recorded at Ovum Studios in Philadelphia and dedicated to E-Culture.

Wink completed the track in 1994, and Strictly Rhythm first released it in March 1995. In the UK it reached number 8 on the singles chart and number 1 on the dance chart, and in the US it reached number 10 on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart. A 1996 remix release returned it to the UK top ten at number 7, and the track appeared on his debut album, Left Above the Clouds, the same year.

Rolling Stone placed it at number 128 on its 2022 list of the 200 Greatest Dance Songs of All Time. Wink told DJ Mag in 2025 that he did not think he could recreate it: "I think it just happened."
