Westside Cowboy are a four-piece from Manchester: Reuben Haycocks on guitar and vocals, James Bradbury on guitar and vocals, Aoife Anson O'Connell on bass and vocals, and Paddy Murphy on drums and vocals. It Goes On is their first album, after the This Better Be Something Great EP on Nice Swan Recordings in August 2025 and the So Much Country 'Till We Get There EP on Adventure Recordings.

Loren Humphrey produced and mixed the record at Greenmount Studios in Leeds; he has also produced Geese, Cameron Winter and Wunderhorse. Felix Davis mastered it. The sleeve photograph is by Clementine Schneider, with creative direction and design by Ginny Davies. The band have said they set out to make "an album for our younger selves, one that reminds us of all the bodies of work that made us fall in love with music," and wanted the music "instant, concise, and honest to us as people today." The first single was "Kick Stones (The Boys)," with a video directed by Edie Lawrence.

This is the indie retail exclusive pressing: 140 gram red recycled vinyl in a printed jacket, with a colored inner sleeve and a 12-inch printed insert. Recycled stock takes pigment unevenly, so the marbling differs from copy to copy. Eleven songs run a little over thirty-five minutes, five on side A and six on side B.
