Original Jazz Classics Series 180-Gram Vinyl LP with Tip-On Jacket and Obi

This is the Original Jazz Classics Series pressing of Full House from Craft Recordings, part of the series' February 2026 wave alongside Vince Guaraldi and Bola Sete's From All Sides and Thelonious Monk's Alone in San Francisco. Kevin Gray cut the lacquers at Cohearent Audio from the original master tapes, keeping the chain all-analog, and RTI pressed them on 180-gram vinyl. The record comes in a Stoughton tip-on jacket with an OJC obi strip, carries the Riverside label design, and is numbered CR00961.

The jacket keeps the Riverside layout and credits. Orrin Keepnews produced the date and wrote the liner notes, Wally Heider recorded it, Ken Deardoff designed the cover, and Jim Marshall took the back-liner photographs. The back also lists the original catalog numbers: RLP 9434 in stereo and RLP 434 in mono.

Montgomery cut the set on June 25, 1962, at Tsubo, a coffee house in Berkeley, California. It was his only live session for Riverside. Johnny Griffin plays tenor saxophone, and the rhythm section is the Wynton Kelly Trio: Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums, all three of them veterans of Miles Davis's band. Riverside issued the album in 1962.

This LP keeps the six tracks in the order Riverside first released them, with the title track in its original edited form. Craft Recordings has said that the 1962 "Full House" combines two takes, with Montgomery's solo edited in from the second. The alternate takes and the unedited master came out in 2023 as The Complete Full House Recordings, a three-LP set.
