Charly Records' Deluxe Edition returns Greater Jamaica Moon Walk - Reggay to vinyl in the form Treasure Isle issued it in Kingston in 1969. The jacket reproduces the original artwork, the audio is newly remastered, and a 4-page illustrated booklet carries new liner notes by reggae historian Dr. Buster Dynamite. The black LP carries the catalog number CHTIS07, which follows the original Treasure Isle number, TIS 07, and the distributor lists the edition as limited.

The back cover keeps the original sleeve note, signed D.C., which traces the band back to "Occupation" and "Garden of Love" by Don Drummond, Tommy McCook and the Skatalites and closes by wishing the listener a ball with Duke Reid's latest release. Its credit line names it a Treasure Isle production, recorded by engineer Byron Smith at the Treasure Isle Recording Studio, 33 Bond Street, Kingston.

McCook leads Tommy McCook and the Supersonics through the twelve tracks, with John Holt, Dave Barker, The Ethiopians, The Gladiators, Glen Adams and Winston Wright among the featured players. Charly's notes describe the moon-themed instrumentals as Apollo-inspired and set them beside classic Treasure Isle material from the dawn of reggae. The album had earlier returned to vinyl as Greater Jamaica Moonwalk Reggae on Music On Vinyl; Charly presents this edition as the first to restore its original Jamaican form.

Born in 1927, McCook began learning the tenor saxophone at eleven at the Alpha Cottage School in Kingston and was a founding member of the Skatalites. He formed the Supersonics in 1968, with Jackie Jackson on bass and Paul Douglas on drums, and through the 1960s and 1970s he recorded with most of the leading reggae artists of the era. Jamaica named him an Officer of the Order of Distinction in 1975. He died in 1998.
