BODIES Definitive on transparent white and blue galaxy vinyl, UNFD catalog number UNFD199DLPD. This edition of Thornhill's third studio album adds the single "Mercia" as a twelfth track and comes in alternate cover art, with a matte finish and a full-color inner sleeve.

UNFD first released BODIES on April 4, 2025. Sam Bassal produced it, and it was the band's first album without guitarist Matt van Duppen, who left in 2023.

The album debuted at number 4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and gave Thornhill their first chart entry in the UK. In November 2025 it won the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album.

"Mercia" arrived as a standalone single in September 2025. Vocalist Jacob Charlton has described it as a song about "loving someone lost in their own abyss."

Thornhill formed in Melbourne in 2015. The band is Jacob Charlton on vocals and guitar, Ethan McCann on guitar, Ben Maida on drums and Nick Sjogren on bass and synth, and BODIES followed The Dark Pool (2019) and Heroine (2022), both also on UNFD.
