Evergreen Vinyl LP in Die-Cut Jacket With Randomized Postcard

This is the evergreen-colored vinyl edition of Love Stories, the second album from the East Los Angeles soul group Thee Sinseers, issued by Colemine Records under catalog number CLMN-12074. The single LP carries eleven songs and arrives in a die-cut jacket that, in the label's description, reveals the band's family photos on a printed inner sleeve. Each LP includes a randomized postcard.

The group is led by singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Joseph Quiñones, who is credited on the label as the writer of every selection. Their debut, Sinseerly Yours, came out on Colemine in March 2024. Colemine's notes say that record grew from a four-piece into an eleven-member ensemble as it was made, while Love Stories was planned as a collective from the start, with every role set before the band went into the studio.

The final mix went to engineer Kelly Finnigan, and newcomer Skip Heller wrote string arrangements for the sessions. The band leaned on standup bass and guitars played through amplifiers for what the label describes as a warmer, sixties-adjacent tone. "It didn't feel like we were making soul music at any point," Quiñones has said. "It felt like we were making our music."

The songs take in romantic, familial and unresolved love, and the band's parents appear in the album art. On "Let's Fall In Love (Again)," the narrator asks for a second chance, then stops to own his part in the heartbreak. Quiñones calls "Minute By Minute" the album's most neighborhood-feeling moment, a slow dance that recalls the gymnasiums of Roosevelt and Garfield High.

According to the label's release notes, the band's first LP sold more than 15,000 units, their music has been sampled by James Blake, and their press and radio support includes NPR's Tiny Desk, KEXP and KCRW.
