This is the original US compact disc pressing of At Carnegie Hall, issued by Blue Note with Thelonious Records in 2005 under catalogue number 0946 3 35173 2 5. The inner ring of this copy reads AT 7301 094633517325 E50906-02 M1S6; the closing suffix is what separates it from other runs of a disc that circulated under several matrix codes.

A single disc running about 51 minutes. The cover credits the Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane and carries a continuous-line drawing of the two men on a white ground. The release barcode is 094633517325.

The music predates the disc by almost half a century. Voice of America taped the quartet at Carnegie Hall on November 29, 1957, at a benefit for the Morningside Community Center in Harlem, and the inadequately labeled tape sat in the Library of Congress until a 2005 digitizing project turned it up. Michael Cuscuna and T.S. Monk produced it for release.

The album is Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall, with Ahmed Abdul-Malik on bass and Shadow Wilson on drums.
