This copy is the Dutch issue of Love Child on Tamla Motown, catalogue number MGTM S-9485, manufactured in Holland by Artone. Its labels print the US Motown number, MS670, in brackets beneath the Dutch one, and the record plays in stereo.

A single LP with orange-and-black Tamla Motown labels marked Stereo, 33 1/3 RPM and Made in Holland, with a boxed "Manufactured by Artone Holland" credit and a 1968 phonogram date. The deadwax reads H 1-5 W4RS-3841-2 E HS-1516-5 on side A and S-2 H W4RS-3842-2 F HS-1517-5 on side B.

Motown first released the album in the US on November 13, 1968, as Motown MS 670. This Dutch pressing dates from 1968 or 1969, when Artone was still pressing Tamla Motown for the Netherlands; EMI-Bovema took over the label there from late 1969.

Love Child was the group's first studio album, covers and tribute sets aside, with no song written or produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland.
