1984 Canadian pressing, Shanachie SH 43015, pressed by Europadisk
Shanachie gathered ten Meditations recordings on Greatest Hits in 1984, five to a side, and issued this copy for Canada as SH 43015. The discs came from Europadisk, whose EDP mark is etched into both runouts.
The object
Side A of this copy reads SH 43015A EDP 50C32640 4-72-0 and side B reads SH 43015B EDP 50C32640, the shared 50C32640 job number tying the two sides together. The Shanachie labels are tan, printed with the company's farmhouse drawing, and carry a 1984 copyright line. The front cover sets a photograph of the three singers sitting on grass into a plain orange field, the group name above in red and the title below in green.
Context
Greatest Hits and this Shanachie LP both date from 1984. The collection draws on sessions engineered by Sylvan Morris, Lee Perry, George Raymond and Lancelot "Maxie" McKenzie, with rhythm sections that include Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, Errol "Flabba" Holt and Boris Gardiner, and Dean Fraser on horns.
