Standard Edition Opaque White Vinyl

The standard vinyl edition of Sanctuary Park is a single LP on opaque white vinyl. Its catalog number, 32587LP, is printed on the center labels, which list each side's songs in a handwritten script. Side one holds the first five songs and ends on "Leap of Faith"; side two begins with "American Midnight" and runs to the end. The whole album runs about 41 minutes.

Stephanie Louris, Gary Louris's wife, took the photographs for the package, with art direction by Nathan Golub. She is also at the heart of "Kingston Girl," which Americana-UK describes as a song about the challenges of a relationship at a distance during the pandemic; Todd Lumley plays accordion on it.

Louris has named his guitar solo on "Always and a Day," a song that also carries harmonica, as his favorite on the record, and Bob Ezrin compared his playing on the title song to David Gilmour's. "Mr. Lincoln" turns on the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. The album closes with "Rowing the Boat," which Louris has called "a children's song about embracing our differences."

Of the four-piece that made it, Louris has said: "We have a certain musical magic that happens without even a word or a discussion." The opening song, "Keeping Our Heads Above Water," plays above.
