The Jayhawks - Sanctuary Park (CD)

The CD puts all eleven songs of Sanctuary Park on a single compact disc. The album is also pressed on vinyl, including Opaque White and Sanctuary Green editions.

Bob Ezrin produced the album and mixed it with Brian Moncarz, and Robert Vosgien mastered it. The band played the sessions live in a Toronto studio, and the album marks their fortieth year, counted from the self-titled 1986 debut known as The Bunkhouse Album.

Gary Louris wrote or co-wrote every song and sings lead on ten of the eleven. The exception is "Mr. Lincoln," sung by drummer Tim O'Reagan. "Hands Upon the Wheel" opens with the band singing a cappella in three-part harmony, and Mike Johnson plays pedal steel on "It'll Be Alright Tonight."

"American Midnight," heard above, was released as a single on July 22, 2026. Louris has said that living in Canada "gives one a certain perspective most Americans might not have." Of the group itself, bassist Marc Perlman has said: "The Jayhawks never settled, musically. We never shortchanged the songs."
