Nighthawk Records compiled Early Recordings 1971-1979 in 1987 as LP number 310, gathering fourteen Itals tracks from the years in its title. Lloyd Campbell and the Itals are credited as producers of the Nighthawk set, with Robert Schoenfeld as executive producer.

Side one's runout reads NH310-A-1 45715-A1 Europadisk DMM WAKEFIELD, naming both Europadisk and the Wakefield plant; side two reads NH310-B-1 45715-B E5. Leroy Pierson supplied the photographs and liner notes for NH310, and the jacket design is credited to Liz Shepard with illustration by Maria Loxas-Hoffmeister.
