New West Records' 2018 edition put Double Thriller, the Glands' debut, on vinyl for the first time. The label remastered it from the original source materials and pressed it as a single 12-inch LP on 140-gram black vinyl, with the album's fifteen songs split seven to side A and eight to side B. Catalog number NW5224.
The Glands were an indie rock band from Athens, Georgia. Double Thriller began as the band's own self-release and was picked up by Bar/None Records for a CD reissue in 1998.
This reissue arrived on November 9, 2018, the same date New West issued Double Coda, the band's third and final studio album. That record was compiled and completed by drummer Joe Rowe, producer David Barbe, Derek Almstead and the label at the request of singer, guitarist and founding member Ross Shapiro, who died in 2016. New West's release notes quote NPR urging listeners to do whatever they can to hear these records.
