Takin' It To The Streets came out on Warner Bros. in March 1976, and this copy was pressed that year by Monarch Record Mfg. Co. in Los Angeles. Monarch's (MR) mark and its △20913 number appear in both runouts.
The object
One LP in a gatefold jacket. The side A runout reads BS-1-2899 S-41198 (MR) △20913 (3), and side B's reads BS-2-2899 S-41199 (MR) △20913-X (3); the labels carry the matrices S41,198 and S41,199. The spine carries the price code 0698. Ed Thrasher art-directed the package, and the photography is by Dan Fong.
Context
Album and pressing both date from 1976. It is the first Doobie Brothers album with Michael McDonald on lead vocals and keyboards, produced by Ted Templeman at Warner Bros. Recording Studios in North Hollywood and mixed at Sunset Sound.
