This 180-gram black vinyl reissue of Time Out was released on October 4, 2024. It carries the album's original seven tracks and no bonus material.
The Dave Brubeck Quartet recorded the album at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York over three dates in the summer of 1959, June 25, July 1 and August 18, with Teo Macero producing. Brubeck played piano, Paul Desmond alto saxophone, Eugene Wright bass and Joe Morello drums; the cover art is by S. Neil Fujita.
Columbia released Time Out on December 14, 1959. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard albums chart, became the first jazz album to sell more than a million copies, and was certified double platinum by the RIAA in 2011. Desmond's "Take Five" went to No. 25 on the pop singles chart and No. 5 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The Library of Congress added Time Out to the National Recording Registry in 2005, and it entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009.

Estimated delivery windows are quoted at checkout based on the shipping speed you select and your delivery address. Transit time begins after your order has been processed.
Typical delivery within the United States ranges from 3–7 business days after shipment, depending on location and selected service. Delivery times for Canada vary by destination and carrier, and may be affected by customs processing.
While most deliveries arrive within the quoted window, occasional delays may occur due to weather, carrier volume, or other factors outside our control.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery speed.
Signature Requirements
Orders totaling over $250 may require a signature upon delivery to help ensure safe receipt. This is applied based on order value and carrier guidelines.
