Rhino's 2023 pressing of the compilation Elektra put out on October 25, 1985, on 140 gram black vinyl and numbered R1 60464, which keeps the 60464 of the original issue. The master is George Marino's, cut at Sterling Sound; Precision Record Pressing made the records.

The twelve songs are the vinyl program rather than the one most listeners know from compact disc, where a thirteenth track, "Heartbeat City," was added. What is here draws on five albums made in six years - The Cars (1978), Candy-O (1979), Panorama (1980), Shake It Up (1981) and Heartbeat City (1984). The compilation reached number 12 on the Billboard 200 and the RIAA has certified it six times platinum.

Two of the twelve belong to this collection specifically. "Tonight She Comes" was new in 1985: Ric Ocasek has said he wrote it while recording his solo album, did not use it there, and the band cut it as a one-off single with Mike Shipley co-producing. It was released on October 14, 1985, reached number 7 on the Hot 100 and spent three weeks at number 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart. "I'm Not the One" appears in its 1985 remix rather than the version issued on Shake It Up.
