Special Edition Deluxe 2LP, Half-Speed Mastered 180g Black Vinyl

The Deluxe configuration of the 2026 Rubber Soul Special Edition puts the album on one record and its working history on the other. LP1 carries the new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell. LP2, The Single, Demos and Sessions Highlights, collects 16 recordings: demos, early takes, instrumental backing tracks and the non-album double A-side "Day Tripper" / "We Can Work It Out". Both discs are half-speed mastered and pressed on 180-gram black vinyl, in a gatefold sleeve with a four-page insert abridged from the Super Deluxe book.

Apple issued the Special Edition on October 2, 2026 in several sizes: a 14-track Standard LP, this 30-track Deluxe, and a Super Deluxe box of five LPs and a 7-inch that adds the original mono master and the Capitol US album. The new mix was made from the original four-track master tapes with the help of the de-mixing technology developed by Peter Jackson's WingNut Films team for the 2021 series The Beatles: Get Back.

Several of the LP2 recordings were heard before the set arrived. "Michelle (Take 1)" was its first single, in July 2026, followed in August by the songwriting work tape of "Day Tripper". The 2023 mixes of "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out" first appeared on that year's edition of 1962-1966, and "In My Life (Take 1)" was previously issued on Anthology 4 in 2025.

Rubber Soul, the band's sixth studio album, first came out on Parlophone in the UK on December 3, 1965, and LP1 follows that 14-song running order rather than Capitol's 12-track North American version. It was recorded at EMI Studios in London over roughly four weeks from October 1965, the first time the group could make an album free of concert, radio or film commitments, and it topped the charts in both Britain and the United States.
