Special Edition CD, New Stereo Mix, Gatefold Digisleeve & 20-Page Booklet

This is the single-disc standard configuration of the 2026 Rubber Soul Special Edition from Apple Corps and Universal Music Group: all 14 songs of the album in the new stereo mix by producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, and nothing else. The Beatles' official store lists the contents as the new stereo mix and a 20-page booklet, housed in a gatefold digisleeve. The disc face is printed to look like the band's original black-and-yellow Parlophone label, catalog number PCS 3075.

Martin and Okell worked from the original four-track master tapes, with help from the de-mixing technology that Peter Jackson's WingNut Films developed for the 2021 documentary series The Beatles: Get Back. The disc follows the 14-song UK running order of December 1965, so it includes "Drive My Car," "Nowhere Man," "What Goes On" and "If I Needed Someone," the four songs Capitol left off its American LP.

Rubber Soul was the Beatles' sixth studio album. Sessions began at EMI Studios in London on 12 October 1965, and "Wait" was finished from a rhythm track the band had taped in June during the Help! sessions. George Harrison's sitar on "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" marked the instrument's first appearance on a Western rock recording.

The Special Edition was revealed after a countdown appeared on the Beatles' official website on 28 July 2026, captioned with a nod to "Wait." Larger configurations add session outtakes, home demos, the original mono mix and the Capitol US album. This CD is the new stereo mix on its own, at a running time of about 35 minutes.
