Clear 180g Vinyl, Limited to 750 Copies

A Work In Progress companion to Eve, the Alan Parsons Project's fourth studio album. It gathers early rough mixes, demos and alternative versions of all nine of the album's songs, none of them released before, and this is their first appearance on vinyl. The LP is pressed on 180-gram clear vinyl in a run of 750 copies, housed in a poly-lined inner sleeve with a 12" x 12" insert of track-by-track sleevenotes by Alan Parsons. Like the earlier Work In Progress releases, it was made with the full involvement of Parsons and the estate of Eric Woolfson.

The takes show the songs before their finished singers arrived. Woolfson plays piano on "I'd Rather Be a Man" and sings a guide vocal on "If I Could Change Your Mind", and Chris Rainbow, who joined the Project on this album, is heard on multitracked vocals for "Secret Garden" and backing vocals with recorder on "Winding Me Up". "Lucifer" appears as a single-edit experiment, and four more songs arrive as rough backing tracks.

Arista released Eve on August 27, 1979. Its concept turned on the strength of women and the problems they face in a man's world. "Damned If I Do" reached No. 27 in the US, and the album went to No. 1 in West Germany, where Billboard reported sales of 400,000 copies by September 1979.
