Watercolor Vinyl 2LP, 25th Anniversary Edition With Obi

This 25th anniversary edition of Fahrenheit Fair Enough, the 2001 debut album by Telefon Tel Aviv, is a Ghostly International double LP pressed on Watercolor vinyl. The two discs sit in a gatefold jacket wrapped with an obi strip, the nine tracks are spread across four sides cut at 45 RPM, and a download card carries the digital bonus tracks. Each watercolor pressing is unique, so the color and finish of a given copy will vary slightly from the promotional images.

Joshua Eustis and Charles Cooper, friends since high school in New Orleans, formed Telefon Tel Aviv in 1999. Ghostly's notes say the pair recorded the album over the course of a year in Eustis' childhood bedroom in the city's Riverbend neighborhood, drawing on New Orleans bounce, Detroit techno and Chicago house as much as on British electronica such as Autechre and Aphex Twin. Eustis has described the goal as making something "definitely American, and kinda southern too."

Hefty Records first released Fahrenheit Fair Enough on September 18, 2001. Roger Seibel mastered it, Graphic Havoc designed the package, and the cover carries watercolors by Francesco Clemente, credited courtesy of the Guggenheim Museum, with photography by Dorothy Zeidman. Alfredo Nogueira added drums and acoustic guitar to "John Thomas on the Inside Is Nothing but Foam." Ghostly reissued the album in 2016, adding eight archival tracks from 1999 to the digital edition, and its anniversary notes place the record at the edges of IDM, experimental and bass music, naming Loraine James and Kelly Moran among the artists who followed.

The duo went on to make Map of What Is Effortless in 2004 and Immolate Yourself in 2009. Cooper died in January 2009, and Eustis has carried on Telefon Tel Aviv alone, returning with Dreams Are Not Enough in 2019. Outside the project he co-produced Puscifer's Conditions of My Parole in 2011 and toured with Nine Inch Nails in 2013.
