This edition of Future Soul is an indie store exclusive: one 180-gram LP pressed in translucent blue for Fantasy Records and sold through independent record shops.

Songwriting credits on the album are shared among Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Mike Mattison, Gabe Dixon and Tyler Greenwell. Mike Elizondo produced it, with sessions split between Swamp Raga Recording in Jacksonville, Florida and Phantom Studios in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Released March 20, 2026 as the band's sixth studio album, it topped Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart and reached No. 8 on both the German and French rock and metal album charts. The band toured behind it from April through October 2026.

"Crazy Cryin'" opens side A and the title track opens side B. The video above is the official clip for "I Got You," the lead single, from the band's own channel.
