Team Dresch - Furthermore (Indie Exclusive Vinyl)

Indie Exclusive Lavender Float Vinyl LP

This is the independent-retail pressing of Furthermore, one LP on lavender float colored vinyl. Jealous Butcher lists the album as JB300 and issued it in several other forms: a red Heirloom Tomato vinyl edition, an artist-exclusive Water Bottle color pressing sold through the label, a CD and a cassette. The label credits Greg Griffith as producer and John Goodmanson as mixer.

Furthermore is the band's first full-length album since Captain My Captain in 1996. The lineup is Donna Dresch, Jody Bleyle, Kaia Wilson, Marcéo Martinez and Melissa York. According to the band's notes, Bleyle and Wilson share the vocals, Martinez and York divide the drumming, and Bleyle, Dresch and Wilson trade guitar and bass from song to song. The same notes describe lyrics about loss and grief, transition and transience, set in landscapes of flora and fauna.

"One Song" opens the record and was the first track shared from it, with a video directed by Nina Landey. The band's statement alongside it read: "Our queerness is a dreamland full of feral, playful joy." A second video, for "Heard A Bang," was directed by Lance Bangs.

Team Dresch formed in 1993. Donna Dresch had written the zine Chainsaw, and Chainsaw Records and Candy Ass Records co-released the band's first two albums, Personal Best in 1995 and Captain My Captain in 1996; Rolling Stone later included Personal Best in its list of the greatest punk albums of all time. The band split in 1998, reunited in 2004 to headline the Homo-a-Go-Go festival and played occasionally after that. Jealous Butcher reissued the catalog in 2019 for the band's 25th anniversary, the same year "Your Hands My Pockets" became their first new music in 19 years.
