Interscope's US disc, catalog number B0023337-02, in a reverse-board matte digipak. Thirteen tracks, 51:10, and no bonus material — the extra songs people remember are on the Japanese editions, which carry their own barcodes.

Kevin Parker wrote, played, recorded, produced and mixed the whole album himself at his home studio in Fremantle, Western Australia. Greg Calbi mastered it at Sterling Sound; Robert Beatty made the sleeve image and Matthew C. Saville took the photography.

Four singles came out ahead of and after it — "Let It Happen" in March 2015, "'Cause I'm a Man" in April, "Eventually" in June and "The Less I Know the Better," the video above, in November. The album reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 on about 50,000 equivalent units, No. 1 on the ARIA chart and No. 3 in the United Kingdom, was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 58th Grammy Awards, and had passed a million US copies by January 2023.
