Navajo White is an interior house paint, the beige-white used to cover the walls of an emptied apartment before the next tenant arrives. John Reis painted houses from his teens into adulthood, and he took the name for his fifth album as Swami John Reis.

Jason Kourkounis (Hot Snakes, Delta 72, Night Marchers) plays drums. Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Obits) plays guitar, Gar Wood (Hot Snakes, Tanner, Night Marchers) plays bass, and Joe Guevara (Jejune, Swami and the Bed of Nails) plays piano and keyboards. Rob Crow (Pinback, PLOSIVS) and Jacob Turnbloom (Mrs. Magician) sing backing vocals.

Reis recorded the album at City of Refuge in San Diego. Ben Moore added further recording and mixed it at Singing Serpent, and Dave Gardner mastered it at DSG Mastering. The label's own notes name later-period Wipers, the quieter Saints songs, early Church recordings and The Damned's The Black Album as the reference points, and describe the record as sentiment set against the unsentimental.

Eight songs across two sides, pressed on off-white vinyl. Swami Records catalog number SWA171. The record is dedicated to house painters everywhere.
