Transparent Turquoise Vinyl LP

This is the 2026 Nuclear Blast repress of ...Of The Dark Light on transparent turquoise vinyl: one LP carrying the album's nine songs, five on Side A and four on Side B. Nuclear Blast's own listing names the color simply as turquoise, while distributors and retailers describe it as transparent.

The album first came out on Nuclear Blast on June 9, 2017. Suffocation tracked it at Full Force Studios on Long Island in December 2016 with engineer Joe Cincotta, who co-produced with the band, and Chris "Zeuss" Harris mixed and mastered it. The cover artwork is by Colin Marks.

Founding guitarist Terrance Hobbs played lead, with Frank Mullen on vocals, Charlie Errigo on rhythm guitar, Derek Boyer on bass and Eric Morotti on drums, and Kevin Muller of The Merciless Concept on backing vocals. It was the first Suffocation album with Errigo and Morotti and the last with Mullen, the band's original singer. Announcing it, Hobbs said the band had spent the previous four years writing the record. At 35 minutes and 17 seconds it is the shortest album in their catalog, and it reached No. 80 on the German albums chart.

Suffocation formed in Centereach, New York, in 1989. Their 1991 debut, Effigy of the Forgotten, was recorded with producer Scott Burns at Morrisound Studios in Tampa and released by Roadrunner, which also issued Breeding the Spawn in 1993 and Pierced from Within in 1995. The band split up in 1998, re-formed in 2003 and has been on Nuclear Blast since Blood Oath in 2009. Mullen stepped away after a final tour announced in 2018, and Ricky Myers sang on the next album, Hymns from the Apocrypha, in 2023.
