180 Gram Black Vinyl With Lyric And Photo Insert And Poster

This is Metal Blade's 180-gram black vinyl edition of Live Undead, catalog number 3984-15789-1, released on October 22, 2021, as a European pressing that Metal Blade's US store sells as an import. It keeps the original Albert Cuellar zombie artwork in a single jacket and adds a two-sided lyric and photo insert and a 60 by 60 centimeter poster. The audio is the remaster made at Future Disc in November 1993, credited to Eddy Schreyer.

Live Undead was Slayer's first live record, issued by Metal Blade on November 16, 1984, and recorded in New York City during the band's 1984 Haunting North America tour. Brian Slagel and the band produced it, with Bill Metoyer engineering. Tom Araya on bass and vocals, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman on guitars and Dave Lombardo on drums play seven songs drawn from Show No Mercy and the Haunting the Chapel EP, opening with an extended introduction to "Black Magic."

The circumstances of the recording are disputed: some accounts place it in a studio in front of a small invited audience, and when asked whether crowd noise was added afterward, Metoyer answered, "I don't know if I should tell you." AllMusic's Ned Raggett named "Evil Has No Boundaries" the strongest of the seven performances.
